QUEENS IMPACT ON THE LEAGUE 2024

  • The Queens don’t just break records—we set them. Since Tauihi tipped off, we’ve owned every attendance milestone, and in 2024, we took it up another level—up 85% year on year.

Last season, 9,510 tickets flew off the shelves, packing out home games with an average of 1,585 fans bringing the energy.

And on November 17, 2024, we made history. 2,045 fans showed up, setting the record for the biggest crowd ever at a women’s Tauihi game.

    Women’s basketball isn’t growing—it’s surging. Keep up.

  • The Queens dominated the screens in 2024, pulling in the highest viewership numbers across the entire Tauihi League.

According to Sky Sport (NZ), ESPN (USA), and FIBA TV, more fans tuned in to watch the Queens than any other team.

Eyes are on us—and we’re just getting started.

  • Backing women’s sport isn’t just the right move, it’s the smart one.

Our vast network is built on game-changers, industry leaders, and visionary business owners who see the future and choose to drive it with the Tokomanawa Queens.

Real impact. Real investment. We love our people.

  • We don’t follow trends—we set them. Every year, we tap into the boundaries of fun in the social media game, and 2024 was no exception.

After winning the Tauihi Best Social Media Award in 2022 and 2023, we leveled up again—proving that when it comes to creativity, engagement, and impact, the Queens lead the way.

Consistent growth. Relentless innovation. Always ahead.

  • In 2024, eighteen visionary businesses and community leaders united to champion our Sponsor A School initiative, unlocking the thrill of live women’s sport for over 6,000 students across 20 schools.

By gifting Game Day tickets, they did more than just open arena doors—they ignited dreams, inspired futures, and created unforgettable moments. This is just the beginning.

We’re committed to shaping experiences that leave a lasting impact on young lives.

  • In 2024, alongside Wellington Basketball, we proudly launched the Girls Only program—an inspiring initiative created by Hemi Pou and led by Queens Head Coach, Tania Tupu.

The response was nothing short of phenomenal. 150 girls stepped onto the court, eager to elevate their game through an 8-week skills and fundamentals journey.

Training alongside the Tokomanawa Queens, Wellington Saints, and Wellington Representative athletes, they didn’t just learn basketball—they embraced confidence, community, and the power of their own game.

  • In partnership with the incredible team at Basketball Manawatū, the Queens brought the Girls Got Game program to life in Palmerston North, inspiring 106 young girls through a dynamic skills workshop and an empowering Q&A session.

Girls from across Taranaki and the Manawatū region came together for two unforgettable hours—learning, laughing, and playing alongside their Tokomanawa Queens.

More than just basketball, it was a celebration of confidence, community, and the power of the game to bring young female athletes together.
